MELBOURNE

Hi everyone,
I am going to write an article about Melbourne, an amazing city in Ausralia.



Melbourne is situated in the southern state of Victoria. It's the second-largest city (after Sydney) with the population of 4 milion inhabitans. The City of Melbourne's population is made up of many groups of people of all ages and from many different cultures. Residents include young professionals, international students and older couples looking to enjoy everything the city has to offer.
On an average weekday around 903,000 people use the city, and each year Melbourne hosts over a million international visitors.
The city is full of grand civic buildings, cathedrals, theaters and parks. What's common, is the street art - you can see street artists everywhere. Why is also Melbourne well-known? The answer us street car- there is the most extensive streetcar network in the world.

WHAT TO SEE:

• Federation square



Home to cultural attractions, world-class events, tourism, exceptional array of restaurants, bars, specialty stores and has become the city's meeting place. It has been opened since 1981.


• Eureka tower


It's a skyscraper almost 300 metres high, that was opened in 2006. You can get to the 88th floor with elevator and have 360 degree views.

• National Gallery of Victoria



The oldest (founded in 1861), largest and most visited art museum in Australia. There you can see for example Australian Aboriginal art and artefacts, international pantings, fashion and textiles, photographies, prints, drawings and sculptures.



• Queen Victoria market

It is the largest open-air market in the southern hemisphere. Home to over 700 small businesses, the market is an epicentre of food, shopping and seasonal events. As you browse the historic sheds and buildings, uncover a variety of clothing, jewellery, artisans, souvenirs and culinary delights. 
During the summer and winter months, the market transforms into The Night Market, a showcase of global street food, live music and shopping. 


 • Luna park



 Luna park is a historic amusement park located on the foreshore of Porti Phillip Bay in St. Kilda. It opened in 1912 with unique rides, delicious food and holiday events for the perfect family fun day. You can try there one of the world's oldest roller coasters.

    Hi Anet, I really like your blog, sounds like visit Melbourne is a good idea. Have you ever been to Melbourne or Australia? If you haven't, would you like to go there? And what place do you like the most?

      No I haven't but I really want to visit Australia, especially Melbourne, beaches, Sydney Opera House, the nature and lifestyle there.

    The Eureka Tower looks strange:) It has got a memorable name. I wonder what the design of this skyscraper should represent.

    Hi Anet, I really like these places! I think that it would be fun to go to the Luna park and the Queen Victoria market looks really nice. I have just one question, which of these places would you like to visit?

      I would like to visit all of them, of course. But if I had to choose, I would like to visit Federation Square, because I like the architecture :-)

Wonderful York

In April 2017 I was in England with my schoolmates. We visited a lot of places but one of my favourite was a beautiful city called York. I stayed there with my two friends in such an agreeable family. York is located on the north of England with population of about 140 000 inhabitans. But what I want to write about aren't facts but my experience. First day of our visit was little walk through the city. We looked into York Minster, what is the one of the most highest gotic cathedrals in the north Europe. For me is this cathedral something like a symbol of this wonderful city. BIG BEN

Hello everyone, today I am going to apprise you with  Great  Bell  of the  clock  at the north end of th e  Palace of Westminster  in  London called Big Ben. Probably a lot of you have been to London and a lot of you have seen Big Ben as well but I hope you will find out some new interesting facts about the amazing bell. HISTORY OF BIG BEN On  16th October 1834 , the Palace of Westminster was destroyed by a huge fire. Then, when the flames were extinguished, there wasn't much left (only Westminster Hall).  Charles Barry was chosen to re-build it, so he did with help of some designers. Of course, the Great Clock needed bells.  One bell for the hour, plus four bells to chime the quarter hours.  The Big Bell was supposed to be called "Victoria" (after the Queen) but Londoners nicknamed it "Big   Ben" and the name remained. TOP 5 RESTAURANTS IN L.A.

Recently I have read an article about the best restaurants in Los Angeles. It impressed me a lot because who doesn´t love food especially tasting different food from different countries? I have always wanted to visit the east coast of the United States (San Francisco, San Diego and also Los Angeles). I hope one day I will have this ability! But now back to the article.  The article was published 13/10/2017 on CNN and it says that Downtown Los Angeles was in few last years boring city with no attractions particularly for visitors.
